Good Morning!!!

Spent my Saturday (your Friday) on a plane from Guam to Honolulu (granted, I was in Business/First Class drinking Stella!).  Landed and got through Immigration in 15 minutes.  Took 45 minutes to get to Aiea (4 miles).  Told the cab driver, Fuck it, drop me off at Dixie Grill.

Drank Beer and got Buffalo Wings to go.

Now at home.

True, So Fucking True!!!

Morning Humor!!!

Nice, and I can relate.  This is my fourth (fifth?) trip to Guam this year since April and I’ve slept in my own bed less than 3 weeks since I went on rotation out here.  Like Bridgid, I’ve “roughed it” a few times.  Albeit, in a torpedo room of a fast attack submarine, living in the center stows with 23 other people.  We have hot water and coffee, but zero privacy and only ourselves to amuse us. If I’m testing the weapons systems, we have to kick everyone else out due to safety (I’ll get frowned upon for squishing a coworker) and these people find niches all over the boat.
We end up being our own best entertainment and counsel.  If someone asks for help, they get all the help that we can provide.
But they’re still stuck on a submarine, far from home and a depth that if we are exposed to, it’s fatal.
And we volunteer for this, and others (civilian shipyard workers) still want to volunteer to go sea to accomplish the ultimate test of a submarine.
