I live in a apartment complex that requires Key Fobs to 1 get in the door and 2, use the elevator.  Try using the fire escape and you’ll find out that it requires a special key.  If I’m “expecting” you, you’ll not see it.  Knock on the door and I’m not expecting you, it Will be overt.
